Rugs
There
is not much difference in carpets and rugs and are often used
interchangeably. The only apparent marked difference is that carpets are
typically floor coverings and larger in size.
Rugs may be used as central flooring furnishing, foot rug, wall hanging
sofa throws and other decorative utilities. They have more decorative value
and come in a wide range of sizes and shapes. They create the theme of the
room. They are made specifically for a purpose. Kids room rugs, area rugs,
lobby rugs, throws etc have a specific purpose other than just flooring.
They may be shaggy rugs, tufted, hand knotted or felt wool rugs. The
manufacturing process is similar to that of the carpets. They have a finer
finish and intricate patterns. They may be smaller in size and yet have a
higher value.
